Thistle fan Paul Climie recently discovered a map from 1861 that shows the location of Partick Thistle’s Muir Park ground.
The Motherwell Times reported a disturbance after the Motherwell v Partick Thistle match in August 1899 which Thistle won 3-1.
The Sporting Times of 26 August 1899 reported a Sunday School teacher’s frustration at his charges’ obsession with football and Willie Paul.
After the 0-1 defeat by Clyde on 8 October 1898 the Dundee Evening Telegraph reported on a betting incident from the Partick Police Court.
In 1895 Scottish clubs faced a challenge as English clubs poached their players mid season, and were often powerless to stop them.
In 1905 referee (and ex Thistle player) John McCorkindale was attacked after a Morton v Rangers match.
The Scottish Referee paper contained an interesting match report for the game which suggested a biased referee.

The 1905-06 season has been reviewed on the site. It was another successful season for Partick Thistle. More records were broken including a top 5 league finish. A record crowd watched a Scottish Cup tie at Meadowside.
At the age of 17 W.W. (William) Tennent signed for Partick Thistle. William was still a schoolboy at Glasgow High School.
